Q. What is PermaClear Clean & Coat?A. PermaClear Clean & Coat is much more than just another automotive glass cleaner - It should be used on side and rear glass windows, sunroofs, wing mirrors and head lights. Although it can also be used on the windscreen itself, you will find it more convenient to use PermaClear Windscreen StayClean which is simply added to the washer bottle. As the name suggests, PermaClear Clean & Coat not only cleans the glass, it works in a totally different way to conventional glass cleaners. Of course, it leaves glass clear without streaks, but it leaves behind an invisible protective coating that repels water, rain and dirt. It improves visibility and makes it much easier to clean all types of contaminants such as dead insects and bird lime. Q. How does PermaClear Clean & Coat work?A. The surface of glass is actually a rough surface. Although not visible to the naked eye, the surface of glass has undulations. The minute peaks and troughs can create anchor points which can actually trap water and dirt. PermaClear Clean & Coat contains special polymers that become bonded to the glass surface to fill in the undulations to help create a smoother surface with much less anchor points so that water and dirt will not be held on the surface of the glass. Q. How will I know PermaClear Clean & Coat is working?A. You'll be able to see the difference as soon as it rains. Water will not stick to the glass but run down it like 'water off a duck's back'. The effect will be most noticeable at speed as lines of water simply fly away. Q. Can I use PermaClear Clean & Coat around the home?A. Absolutely. Simply spray onto the glass from about 15 cm and wipe over the entire surface with a clean cloth. You will actually feel the difference as you wipe - as the cloth appears to 'glide' over the surface.
